Kala, a brown hound mix, and Keira, a boxer mix, were facing the unimaginable - scheduled for euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter. But fate had other plans for them. Malena Evans, from the Etowah County Humane Center, captured a heartwrenching moment in a photograph. It depicted the two best friends embracing, with Kala clinging to Keira as if begging for help.
